Candidate for the Board of Directors
“My active engagement in studying citizen science started over twelve years ago, when me and my colleagues were asked to join a project called “SOCIENTIZE – Society as infrastructure for e-science via technology, innovation and creativity”. ECSA had not even been established by then, but we saw a growing wave of Citizen Science starting to develop across Europe. We ended the project with the first Whitepaper on Citizen Science in Europe. And ever since, I was fascinated by the power of participatory methods in science and what they can achieve for the better of society. After a first period in the Board of Directors with many insightful encounters from the growing community I would still love to contribute further to the strengthening of ECSA and claim our position as change makers in Europe via Citizen Science.”
